Who is interviewing who???

Today’s employment market in most sectors of our Hunter
region have turned traditional job interviewing on its head. If as a manager or
small business owner you think you are doing the interviewing to find the right
candidate – think again….it truly is the candidate that is weighing up your
role – Is this the best opportunity for me!!!

Are you conducting interviews that outline the benefits of
working with you and with the organisation? Are you selling at interview?

Even before the interview what is your brand doing for
recruitment?

Your brand as an employer is a very important strategy in
finding the best talent. If you are not working on employment branding in the
Hunter you are making the very tough task of recruitment even harder. Let’s
simply think about your website:

After looking at a job ad of interest or meeting with a
recruiter – the first place people go is your website. If your website does not
showcase your values, outline professionalism and if it is really boring, then
that great candidate may not be even interested in gaining an interview let
alone take a job.

Selling yourself as a business is now key to making great
placements, job hunters be it passive or active have choice and if you think you
miss out because someone else is simply paying bigger $$, you are totally wrong
– this has just become your excuse.

Finding the right people to help in your business is hard
work but selling the company better is the first step towards achieving better
recruitment outcomes. If you want to work with a recruiter and HR professional
that embraces these challenges contact Craig McGregor of Hunter Recruitment
Group & Retain HR today – 49366537

Why HR should be OUTSOURCED

http://blogs.news.com.au/cubefarmer/index.php/news/comments/should_i_confide_in_the_hr_manager/

Found this article that opens a whole lot of interesting debate from the news.com.au readers. For me HR should be a strategic advisory function within business. Outsourcing this function within small to medium business to a company such as my consulting brand Retain HR allows business to decentalise these issues and have the HR function focus on policy and advice.
