The Role

The maintenance office is responsible for the void management process, bringing homes to a quality standard within KPI time frames and minimising rental loss. They are responsible for the monitoring and delivery of the responsive maintenance program and utilising technical knowledge and expertise to provide cost effective solutions to customer requests.

In this role you will;

  • Maintain contractor compliance records and supporting the contractor performance management process.
  • Oversee the delivery of responsive and void maintenance program
  • Liaising with customers, Occupational Therapists and contractors to implement modifications and alterations to provide optimal outcomes for customers
  • Day to day delivery of the voids service, including scoping, management of contractors and controlling void costs
  • Managing of data including property condition reports, pre and post inspections, reporting and assets management data.

    The Role:
    More than just a housing organisation, Hume Housing want to build strong, cohesive communities with positive social outcomes. The Partnerships Coordinator is a critical role that will develop a social service system coordination framework in partnership with key strategic stakeholders. The coordinator role will include:

    • Driving collaborative partnerships and effective implementation of partnership agreements
    • Ensuring Hume’s adherence to and review of contractual agreements  
    • Sourcing funding through grant applications
    • Reporting of partnership agreement compliance to internal and external stakeholders
    • Support the achievement of improved social housing outcomes for Hume’s customers

    About You:
    You will be representing Hume and ensuring compliance with regulatory bodies so to be successful in this role you will have:

    • Experience and knowledge developing and implementing service delivery plans.
    • Experience maintaining and reporting on formal agreement compliance and regulatory requirements.
    • Commitment to work proactively with stakeholders for improved service delivery.
    • Experience in working successfully with customers, support agencies and partners to improve social and economic outcomes for customers
    • Experience providing accurate and timely management and stakeholder reports on collaborative activities
    • A great social awareness and understanding of social and cultural differences is critical
    • Must hold valid NSW driver licence and a fully insured vehicle
    • Relevant Community Development or Social Sciences or equivalent qualifications and experience

This is a full-time role with lots of customer and stakeholder contact. The elements of this role will include:

    • Customer engagement and consultation
    • Develop and facilitate an Active Ageing Strategy
    • Working within Hume’s Customer Support Co-Ordination Model
    • Utilising Strength Based approach working directly with customers to improve:
      •  Tenancy sustainability
      •  Identification of changing needs
      •  Social inclusion initiatives
    • Strategic internal and external stakeholder collaboration
    • Developing, delivering and connecting seniors to independence support networks
    • Options & opportunities for seniors to access housing that is appropriate to their changing needs.
    • Contribution to Neighbourhood Planning and continuous service improvement

    About You:
    You will be representing Hume, assessing customer needs and supporting customers to thrive and prosper, so to be successful in this role you will have:

    • Experience and knowledge in “active aging” including delivery of capacity building programs
    • Experience working with and/or developing social inclusion programs targeting seniors
    • Understanding of issues arising for seniors in regard to housing, including downsizing, modifications and change in family circumstances
    • Building and utilising networks and partnerships to achieve senior’s goals
    • Commitment to work proactively with customers and have a solutions focus
    • A great social awareness and understanding of social and cultural differences is critical
    • Working knowledge of
      • Residential Tenancy Act
      • Future Direction NSW
      • Social & Affordable Housing
    • Must hold valid NSW driver licence and a fully insured vehicle
    • Cert IV in Community Services or Social Housing or higher is desirable

    The role
    The Income Recovery Officer is responsible for supporting customers to sustain their tenancies by providing appropriate professional advice, and the collection and recovery of tenant arrears of all types. Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to;

    • Ensuring a customer focused and driven service and experience
    • Pro-actively manage enquiries and complaints
    • Build effective relationships with relevant agencies and provide advice and referrals to customers
    • Support Hume to meet its financial goals and targets through effective debt prevention initiatives and processes
    • Support the income recovery team to meet it’s legal and regulatory obligations with timely and accurate recordings of all customer information
    • Manage NCAT applications and hearings in line with relevant policy, procedures, and tenancy laws.
