The Role:
 
This is a workshop-based fabrication role where accuracy and attention to detail are critical. Working in a dynamic team environment, you will be operating machinery and fabricating products to support the construction and mining industries.  
 
It is a fast-paced environment where meeting production targets is critical. Offering a great work/life balance, this is a full time Monday – Friday role, 7am-3.30pm. You will commence with Hunter Recruitment Group under our temp2perm process.
 
This would be considered the start of the production process and as such is a great entry level role into this amazing, rapidly growing business. Career progression for great operators will be available.

Very much seasonal work and not a full time position but ongoing shifts are available for the top performers each week.

The role involves locating stock, picking items, neatly packing into boxes and dispatching to their valued customers located Australia wide. Shifts will be anything from 4 to 8 hours spanning hours between 7am and 5pm – Monday to Friday, with quieter times during school holidays meaning you will be able to enjoy some time off.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A meticulous level of attention to detail and appreciation of presentation of goods for delivery
  • Experience working in a fast paced environment – hospitality or retail environments ideal
  • Some experience working in a hands on capacity with stock ie night fill or Point of sale
  • Ideally experience using a hand held RF Scanner
  • A reasonable level of physical fitness as the work can be physically demanding
  • A positive attitude and a desire to work as part of a highly motivated, fun, supportive team
  • Availability across 5 days (Monday to Friday) essential.

 
 
This role is available for a late May / June start and pays an excellent casual hourly rate of $26.14 plus super.

Beginning at five days, 20 hours per week, this role has the ability to fit in with school hours, but also provides the exciting possibility to increase hours in the coming months, without impeding on school hours.

Our client is based in the heart of the Hunter Valley and services many heavy industrial, commercial and domestic sites in the region. This is not one of the global giants of the space but a boutique customer service focused group of experts where you as an individual will have autonomy to be the best in your field.

The role:

  • Conduct occupational hygiene monitoring for identified health hazards including airborne contaminants such as dusts, asbestos, heat stress, chemical and microbiological contaminants, and noise
  • Provide technical reports and advice on occupational health issues
  • Hazardous chemical management
  • Administrative work that occurs in consulting such as quote preparation, system and procedure development
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders

The Person:

This is not just an equipment operator role – we are seeking an individual who can understand the science behind the data

  • An interpreter of information
  • A customer driven professional with an ability to have meaningful discussions with clients
  • An expert report writer
  • Skilled equipment operator
  • Not a desk jockey – this is a predominately site based role
  • Have an understanding that flexibility in client delivery is key – some work will be conducted outside of normal business hours and you may need to travel throughout NSW

To be successful in this role you must:

  • Have Tertiary qualification in Occupational Hygiene, Chemistry, WHS, Engineering, Environmental Science or other suitable discipline
  • A minimum of 3 years professional field experience
  • Strong commitment to health, safety, quality and best practice concepts
  • Excellent organisational skills, task management skills and attention to detail
  • Great communication skills
  • Excellent report writing skills and proven ability to work to deadlines
  • Capable of working effectively with minimal supervision / Ability to work independently but effectively in a small team environment
  • An understanding of the relevant regulatory bodies, processes and legislation
  • A valid unrestricted driver’s license and excellent driving history
  • Australian Citizenship or rights to work in Australia
  • Computer literacy and be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software including but not limited to Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Must pass a drug and alcohol test.
  • Applicants with membership or qualifications from the Australian Institute of Occupational Hygienists will be highly regarded.
